The audience vote of the National Film Award “Lielais Kristaps” begins / Article / LSM.lv

On October 22, the audience voting of the National Film Award “Kristaps the Great” has started. This year, 13 films nominated for the Audience Award are nominated in the categories – “Best Feature Film”, “Best Feature Documentary”, “Best Short Documentary” and “Best Animated Film”.

Vote on the public media portal LSM.lv may until 12 noon on 12 November. You can vote for your favorites once a day by logging in with your social media profile or email.

Films are nominated for the Audience Award:

• “Blizzard of Souls” – director Dzintars Dreibergs, “Kultfilma”, producers Inga Praņevska, Dzintars Dreibergs.
• “What does Pacific Gerda know” – director Jevgenijs Paškēvičs, “Nida Filma”, producer Jevgenijs Paškēvičs, co-produced. “Studio Locomotive”.
• “City by the river” – director Viesturs Kairišs, “Ego Media”, producer Guntis Trekteris, co-produced 8Heads Productions (Czech Republic), Artbox (Lithuania).
• “Every day of the century. Seasons ” – director Dzintra Geka, “Children of Siberia”, producer Dzintra Geka.
• “Presence” – directors Liene Linde and Armands Začs, “Ego Media”, producer Guntis Trekteris.
• “Wearer” – director Ivars Zviedris, “Documentary”, producers Ivars Zviedris, Marta Bite.
• “Afigenna” – director Ivars Zviedris, “Documentary filmmaker”, producer Ivars Zviedris.
• “My dear Don” – director Pauls Dombrovskis, “Raccoon Hands Productions”, producer Pauls Dombrovskis.
• “Hike ’44” – directors Lauris Ābele and Mārcis Ābele, “Tritone Studio”, producer Zane Sietniece, co-produced. Latvian Television.
• “The first bridge” – director Laila Pakalniņa, “Company Hargla”, producer Laila Pakalniņa.
• “Swan Maiden” – director Kārlis Vītols, “Air Productions”, producer Līga Vidus.
• “My favorite war” – director Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsen, “Bivrost Film”, “Ego Media”, producers Trond Jacobsen, Guntis Trekteris.
• “All my friends are dead” – directors Anna Zača, Nils Skapāns, “VFS Films”, producer Uldis Cekulis.

The winner of the audience vote will be announced at the “Big Kristaps” awards ceremony on November 15. The ceremony will feature awards for the best films and film industry professionals, as well as special jury and partner awards, including the “Latvian Mobile Phone” award for the best feature film, and viewers will be able to watch it live on Latvian Television and the portal LSM.lv.

“Kristaps the Great” will take place this year from November 12 to 15. This is the most important event in the Latvian film industry, which gives an opportunity to see and professionally evaluate the latest Latvian films, as well as to honor the traditions of Latvian cinema. In 2016, Kristaps the Great won the status of the National Award, and this year the awards will be presented for the 32nd time. It will be possible to watch the films in the cinema “Splendid Palace”, in the quarter of Tallinas Street and online – filmas.lv.

The National Film Award “Kristaps the Great” is organized by the Latvian Cinematographers’ Union in cooperation with the National Cinema Center and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
