The attempt of an Ironman in the Mar Menor ends with honors | Radio Murcia

Miguel Madrid has once again completed another extreme achievement in a year in which, before confinement by the coronavirus, he became the first Murcian to climb the seven peaks and shortly after he managed to go around the Region of Murcia by bicycle with his partner Mary Roca .

The new challenge that was set together with the Club Chotacabras was to take up the idea of holding an Ironman in the Mar Menor, something that a company tried to do in 2014 although it did not end up curdling. A route that took them to swim more than 6 kilometers across the Mar Menor, 200 km by bicycle to Sierra Espuña and that ended by walking around the salty lagoon.

Distances that far exceed those of the Ironman which are: 3.86 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running. This test began last Saturday, July 25, the day of Santiago Apóstol, at 06:30 and ended on Sunday at 08:30 in the statue of Santiago located in Santiago de la Ribera.
