The application of the HPV vaccine will end in the schools of La Laguna – El Sol de Durango

LAGUNERA REGION, Dgo. (OEM).-Since the vaccination campaign to prevent the infection and spread of the human papilloma virus (HPV) began, for 13- and 14-year-old girls in the Laguna region, progress of 60% has been recorded to date and for this Friday the application of 100% of the 5,200 doses of the objective that corresponds to the state health sector in La Laguna will be achieved.

The above was reported by Luis Fernando Olvera Martínez, head of the Health Jurisdiction number 2, who at the same time added that despite the fact that the campaign ends this Friday, it will be extended until the end of the year, whose goal is to care for minors who for some reason are not in an educational institution.

He explained that the objective of the health jurisdiction in this campaign that began on November 28 is to apply 5,200 doses against HPV, while the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) and the Institute of State Workers’ Security and Social Services (ISSSTE ) are applying the 5,800 doses.

He specified that in total there will be 11,000 doses that correspond to the overall register of the Educational System of the Laguna Region, which includes 196 secondary schools of the 11 municipalities to be applied to the female sector between 13 and 14 years old, as well as to those girls who attend the first and second grade.

At a specific request, the state health officer commented that the vaccination campaign will be extended to girls aged between 13 and 14 who do not attend school, therefore a vaccination center will be installed at the Isauro Venzor Health Center, where they can go All girls and young women accompanied by their parents.

This module will start at 08:00 in the morning to 14:30 (2:30 in the afternoon), which will be enabled for the rest of this month and is -she reiterated-, to assist young women who are not in schools.

Finally, Luis Fernando Olvera clarified that with these preventive actions, the commitment of the governor, Esteban Villegas Villarreal, to safeguard the health of the people of Durango, in this case of 13 and 14 year old girls and adolescents, is approved.
