The new album includes five world premieres performed by the Riga Saxophone Quartet (RSQ) with the participation of talented performers – like-minded people.

The album premieres compositions inspired by composers in poetry, the world of dreams, the book of Revelation, the landscapes of Old Riga and the impulses of photography: Dace Aperāne’s “Two Fantasies”, Mārīte Dombrovska’s “and Rihards Zaļupe ‘s” Increase in Blur “.

The current composition of the quartet has been since 2016 and consists of Artis Sīmanis, Katrīna Kivleniece-Cābule, Ainars Šablovskis and Baiba Tilhena. Musical partners in this album – pianist Herta Hansen, accordionist Natalija Melnikovica, singer Ieva Parša and percussionists Guntars Freibergs and Rihards Zaļupe, whose composition is recorded in this album.

With Artis Simans at the core, the Riga Saxophone Quartet creates a variety of concert programs, the repertoire is huge – from Gabriel and Bach to Glas and Piacola, from world music to jazz. The ensemble performs as a quartet and also with Latvian professional orchestras and choirs, plays in Latvian concert halls, schools, churches and open-air concerts. Received the Grand Music Award 1999 for high artistic performance at the 1st International Saxophone Music Festival “Saxophonia” and especially active concert activities in Latvia, participated in the Latvian National Opera’s New Hall performance “Earth Fruits” and traveled around Latvia with nature observer Māris Olts.

From May 13, the album will be available in CD format at music retail outlets in Latvia and 80 countries, as well as on all the most popular music download and streaming platforms around the world.
