San José, Nov 27 (elmundo.cr) – A Costa Rican professional athlete played a major adapted tennis final at the MTA Open tournament in Turkey.
We are talking about José Pablo Gil, who on Saturday 26 November won the doubles final with the Chilean Alexander Cataldo, in the tournament held at the Ali Bey Manavgat Club in Antalya, .
Gil and Cataldo were the doubles champions, beating Japan’s Daisuke Araí and Kouhei Suzuki in two hours with a score of 6-3/6-3.
«DOUBLE CHAMPION. Good way back to court on this tour. 4 tournament that I win together with my partner Alexander Cataldo,” said Gil.
The Costa Rican, prior to this participation, had been out of the field for 7 months due to an injury to his right hand. With this victory Gil managed to climb three positions in the standings, moving from 37th to 34th place.
