Juventus shook, Juventus didn’t always shine – but in the end the old lady is also at the top of the final table for the 2019/20 Corona season. On Sunday evening, the Turin team made the championship title mathematically perfect.
July 26, 2020
For Maurizio Sarri’s group, it is the 9th Scudetto in a row and the 36th overall. In 2005 and 2006 Juventus was also a champion, but those titles were revoked due to the betting scandal. Juve’s masterpiece was won against Sampdoria on Sunday: With a 2-0 home win, the Turins raised the points account to 83 points and are therefore no longer to be caught 2 laps before the end of the championship.
The title was a tough job – especially because Juventus struggled to get going after the Corona break. Out of the 10 games so far, the group around superstar Cristiano Ronaldo won their 6th. However, the rivals Lazio, Inter and Atalanta also failed in the decisive moments, so that the advantage of Juventus was never really jeopardized.

Against Sampdoria, Cristiano Ronaldo gave his Juve the lead in the 7th minute of injury time in the first half after a free kick variant. In the second section, Federico Bernardeschi made the preliminary decision with his first goal of the season. After that, Cristiano Ronaldo could have made his double perfect, but he failed with a penalty on the crossbar.
Real estate with a pack of three
A missed goal that will particularly annoy Ronaldo. In the duel for the top scorer Ciro Immobile has presented properly. The Lazio striker scored three times on Sunday in his Romans’ 5-1 win against Hellas Verona. The 30-year-old from fourth in the table, two season games before the end, now has 34 goals of the season on his account – just as many Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern Munich achieved in the past Bundesliga season. Ronaldo follows with 31 goals so far.
