Killing Floor 2 (Freek)
Killing Floor 2 may have been released 6 years ago but the game still averages around 3000 players simultaneously making the servers unsafe. The game can count on various new maps and cosmetics with the regularity of clockwork, where it is hoisted in a matching outfit during the holidays. So is the Christmas event that puts you face-to-face with murderous gingerbread men, frustrated snowmen, and a Santa who’s clearly had enough of his annual chimney tour. And hopefully, after a few laps the ambience will feel like someone has generously poured mulled wine. Greetings!
GTA Online (Alain)
I’ve got hoes everywhere. Yes, sometimes you come across this if you dare to play GTA Online during the Christmas season. Let this be the game that has been an indispensable part of Alain’s Christmas traditions for years. The streets of San Andreas are white with snow, rocket launchers are filled with fireworks, and players shamelessly don the craziest Christmas outfits. Add some Christmas sounds and the mood is complete. Furthermore, you should also be very careful in your virtual car, because snow actually has an impact on the driving of cars in GTA Online. It may seem strange to smell the holiday spirit in GTA – a game where you usually smell other things – but Alain is unique.

Christmas is Harry Potter and Harry Potter is Christmas. Initially it would Hogwarts Legacy it should always be on this list, but as the release date was pushed back to February 10, 2023, Joachim had to reconsider his choice. But don’t worry, because the Christmas season also means getting together. And let LEGO Harry Potter be just one of the ideal couch co-op games to play with your loved one, boyfriend, girlfriend or family member. If Pieter-Jan has to pick a game that oozes with wintery ambiance, it has to be Mafia 2. The city of Empire Bay, a fictional city clearly inspired by both New York and Chicago, is covered in the first half of the game under a white overlay of snow. This reinforces the cold and gloomy atmosphere of this gangster game. Especially the mission “Murphy’s Law”, in which a robbery goes completely wrong and you escape from the police through the roof, perfectly reflects the influence of the winter weather. The roof is slippery and your partner is in fear of his life slipping right on the edge. However, it’s not alone. Pedestrians in the streets of Empire Bay also slip on the icy sidewalks and driving also requires full attention not to skid on the slippery road surface. Once “Let It Snow” plays through your car stereo, the tone is completely set.
Dragon Quest treasures
Is there a better time to play a cozy game than the Christmas season? I do not think so. The game that Aaike will play among the abundance of kibble and yule logs and that she would immediately recommend is Dragon Quest treasures. Shredders (Robby)
Christmas to me Robby is snow, and it’s an old tradition from when he was young and went skiing every year with his parents. The last time was 8 or 9 years ago and he misses the feeling of the snow cracking and sliding under the weight of the skis. That’s why Robby chooses Shredders, a homegrown game that lets you do your own thing on the slopes. Obviously he can’t pull off those breakneck tricks in real life, but I’m happy to take that digital bonus. Shredders has also been available for PS5 since December 6, and you can still test it via Xbox Game Pass. Then you will experience at least one white Christmas on the screen!
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (Helm)
Cold winters always remind Timon of chocolate milk, snow and…giant monsters?? This line of thinking mostly came to Timon through the Monster Hunter World expansion called Icebourne. If the name doesn’t already reveal it, this DLC takes players to a completely snowy world. With tons of new monsters and new variations, Timon hasn’t quite accomplished everything in the game yet. From time to time he returns to the snowy landscape to complete his “kill” list. A list that we hope never ends with Santa Claus.
