“That was a class difference. We didn’t have the slightest chance, ”commented THC-Trainer critically and soberly. His counterpart André Fuhr did not want to leave the class difference standing. However, the BVB coach emphasized a very convincing performance of his team and praised, among other things, how patiently the attacks were sometimes played out on the basis of the good cover work.

Great respect

While BVB’s lead grew, the uncertainty about THC seemed to grow. After all, he had been able to shorten the game with Asli Iskit with two goals before the break. Not enough, however, to have high hopes with a six-goal deficit after 30 minutes against the currently strongest team in the league.

Müller changes team

A lot should have come together, Müller suspected, in order to be able to surprise himself, but also Dortmund. The coach tried a lot, switched to several positions after 20 minutes. From then on, Petra Blazek stood in the THC goal, who fished away a ball at the beginning of the second half. All too often, however, the Austrian was left alone by her defense. “You have to tackle the defense a lot better from the start. We missed that, ”said Müller.

Since the THC could not increase its throwing effectiveness after the break, what had to come came. After 43 minutes, BVB was unassailable with ten goals (27:17) and took the victory home with ease. “You simply can’t afford to make that many mistakes against a team like Dortmund,” summarized THC captain Lydia Jakubisova.
