That’s what Daniel Dae Kim is doing today

Daniel Dae Kim became known to a larger audience through “Hawaii Five-0” as “Chin Ho Kelly”. He’s now 52 years old and really looks like he hasn’t aged a day since he started acting in the 1990s.

When he began acting in 1996 after graduating from NYU’s Graduate Acting Program, he had guest roles on popular series such as Ally McBeal, Star Trek: Voyager, and CSI.

“Hawaii Five-0”: “Chin Ho Kelly” was Daniel Dae Kim’s second big role

Even before Dae Kim celebrated success on “Hawaii Five-0” as “Chin Ho Kelly”, he had another big role: From 2004 to 2010, the Korean-born American actor made his big break in the ABC hit series “Lost” as “Jin-Soo Kwon”.

The next big breakthrough for Daniel Dae Kim came in 2010 with “Hawaii Five-0”. He starred for seven seasons before leaving the series in 2017. Failed contract negotiations were given as the reason for the exit.

Daniel Dae Kim is also active as a voice actor. Among other things, he speaks “Johnny Gat” in the popular “Saints Row” series. Although his focus has always been on television appearances, he has also appeared in a number of feature films. For example, he starred in the “The Determination” series.

Daniel Dae Kim: His private life

Daniel Dae Kim still lives in Hawaii, where he moved during the series “Lost”. Although there hasn’t been so much TV work waiting for the actor since his “Hawaii Five-0” break, he probably can’t complain.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, which he keeps showing on social media.

He is currently playing a recurring role in two medical dramas: “New Amsterdam” and “Flack”. He also works as an executive producer on several shows.

It’s nice that the “Chin Ho Kelly” actor Daniel Dae Kim has built a career even after the end of “Hawaii Five-0”.
