“TF1’s HPI to be Adapted as ‘High Potential’ by Disney’s ABC in the United States”

SERIES – It’s confirmed, Morgane Alvaro will cross the Atlantic! HPITF1’s successful comic-detective series, will become High Potential in the United States, where it will be adapted by the ABC group, announced this Wednesday, May 17 in a press release the TF1 group and its co-producers.

“It is a great pride and a great first to see a TF1 series, which has become iconic since its launch in France, adapted by the Disney studio for the major network ABC” in the United States, said Ara Aprikian, deputy general manager of content for the TF1 group, quoted in the press release.

In September 2022, TF1’s content distribution subsidiary, Newen Connect, entered into an agreement with ABC Signature, a subsidiary of Disney Television Studios, for the American adaptation of the project. “The confirmation of the project crowned the success of the pilot, hailed as one of the best choices of the selection of ABC in 2023” at a Tuesday meeting of the Association of American Television Critics, it is specified.

Sold in over 105 countries

The American version will star Kaitlin Olson as Morgane Alvaro, an extravagant cleaning lady and single mother, recruited as a consultant by the police – whom she hates – for her “high intellectual potential” (160 de QI).

Since 2005, the actress has notably played the role of Dee Reynolds in the sitcom Philadelphiaand portrayed Mackenzie Murphy in both seasons of the series Very Bad Nanny.

Daniel Sunjata will take over the role of Detective Karadec. The actor is known for his role as Franco Rivera in the series Rescue Me: 9/11 Heroes.

In France, HPI broke audience records in France, exceeding 10 million viewers, a first since 2005. The launch of the third season gathered 8.4 million viewers last week.

To date, the series has been sold in more than 105 countries and adaptations are also broadcast in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
