Test your moles with the latest equipment for free in a park in Bucharest

Do you have a mole that looks like it will cause you problems in the future? You can test it for free until June 27 in Tineretului Park (entrance from Sincai High School) in Bucharest.

The Federation of Cancer Patients Associations in Romania has launched the information campaign about melanoma, “A future without stain”, in which those who wish can test their moles for free in a mini-dermatology clinic equipped with modern dermatoscopy devices.

The tests take place in a Mobile Dermatoscopy Unit, between 10:00 and 19:00.

The screening campaign takes place in the context in which the behavior of Romanians towards sun exposure is worrying. A study conducted in 2015 showed that although over 50% of Romanians are aware that moles can be a danger to health, 9 out of 10 said they had not been to a dermatological checkup in the last year.

“Official data on the incidence of melanoma show that, in the absence of comprehensive and constant national prevention and screening programs, the frequency of the disease is increasing. This year, our main message to the population is: go and check your moles!

To facilitate access to screening and testing, we came closer to the population, in a friendly setting, in the park. Melanoma is an extremely aggressive disease, but which, detected in time and treated when it is in its early stages, can be cured. A few minutes of screening can really save you life“said Cezar Irimia, President of the Federation of Associations of Cancer Patients.
