Tesla: Model X with $ 29,000 repairs over 645,000 kilometers

The repairs were kept within a range of up to 300,000 kilometers, after which it became more expensive. All in all, around $ 29,000 in repair costs came in at 645,000 kilometers. The air conditioning and the touchscreen were particularly vulnerable and expensive. The US consumer protection organization Consumer Reports had already given the Model X bad grades in 2016 and described it as unreliable. The falcon doors, window regulators, air conditioning and the infotainment system were criticized at the time. Apparently some problems are still not resolved.

The 2016 model X was operated on the US west coast for passenger transport, which apparently did not get the air conditioning well. It had to be replaced twice, once after 116,000, the second time after 185,000 kilometers.

The display in the middle, which Tesla calls the media control unit, was also expensive. It broke after 600,000 kilometers and cost $ 2,400.
Had the owner also had to pay for the battery that had to be replaced after 510,000 kilometers, it would have been expensive. Tesla graciously took over the exchange, although the warranty only covers 240,000 kilometers. The engine was replaced after goodwill after 495,000 kilometers.
