Terrorist group Al Qaeda until ISIS began to get involved in the conflict between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip. In their latest statement, these two radical groups even asked their sympathizers and followers to attack Israelthe Jews, and United States of America as a form of support for Palestine.
These two terrorist groups congratulated the Palestinian Hamas group which succeeded in launching a surprise attack on Israel on October 7. This attack sparked the war between Hamas vs Israel that broke out and has spread to this day.
Reporting from GuardianThe latest statement from the Al Shabaab group, Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Somalia, said the conflict in Palestine “is not just about territorial struggles and disputes between Islamic factions on Palestinian land”.
“Muslims must come together and offer everything they can,” Al Shabaab’s statement was quoted as saying The Guardian.
Other Al Qaeda affiliates in Yemen, India and Syria also issued similar statements.
Meanwhile, ISIS also issued a statement containing a call to launch attacks against Jews everywhere, especially in North America and Europe.
ISIS also gave advice on “practical measures to fight the Jews.”
ISIS even criticized Hamas for its closeness to Iran and its narrow focus on Islam.
Even though they are both terrorist groups, ISIS and Al Qaeda compete fiercely, especially in spreading propaganda and rhetoric to attract new members.
However, the influence of these two groups has continued to weaken significantly in recent years.
ISIS lost a lot of territory in Syria and Iraq. Meanwhile, Al Qaeda lost its top leader, Ayman Al Zawahiri, due to a drone attack in 2022.
