This is the shocking moment when an Afghan TV presenter reads the headlines while surrounded by armed Taliban thugs. The video was shared online by the TV studio after the fighters stormed the building and asked the news anchor to praise the Taliban.
The BBC’s Yalda Hakim shared a video of the Sunday afternoon news report on Twitter and wrote: “Afghan television is surreal. This is what a political debate on Afghan television now looks like, the Taliban are watching the host.”
The presenter spoke about the collapse of the Ghanaian government and said that the Islamic Emirate said that the Afghan people should not be afraid of the Taliban.
In the 42-second clip, which has been viewed more than 1 million times since then, the news anchor is surrounded by eight armed men who appear to be guarding him as he reads.
