It’s a pretty amazing project that we’re talking about here. From next September two women will launch for Terra America. A project in the form of a commemoration of Citroën cruises, but with a real purpose, well beyond the ride.
Terra America, a societal project…
This project will be led by two women. For the moment, only one is known: Fanny Adam. Doctor of chemistry, she traveled the world in search of plants for medicinal use. And it allowed him to meet many indigenous peoples. These peoples who are clearly on the way to extinction, bowing to the constraints of the westernized cultures that surround them. As the UN wants to put the decade 2022-2032 under the sign of indigenous languages, a notebook will be written on this subject and given to UNESCO at the end of the journey.
The journey will cross America, from north to south. Because the American continents are still home to more than 80 million natives… who are going to discover a car that’s truly from home.
… which is bringing Citroën cruises back to life
For Terra America it is not a tankette that will be used as during Citroën cruises. Instead it is a Traction 11 which will cover the 40,000 km of the Pan-American Highway.

This road connects Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushaïa in southern Argentina. The project will be done in several times. And obviously many stops and detours will be on the program in order to meet as many tribes or indigenous groups as possible on the way.
Terra America will actually begin in June 2021, in Alaska. The crew and their Traction will set off with the objective of reaching Los Angeles in three months.
At the beginning of 2022, Central America will be on the program with the route between Los Angeles and Cartagena in Colombia. Finally, the last quarter of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 will be used to travel across South America, from the Andes to Patagonia via the Amazon.

If the project is still looking for partners, already strong support is flowing. On the automotive side, Henri-Jacques Citroën (grandson of), Jacques Ségéla (advertiser for the brand), the Amicale Citroën Internationale and the Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS are behind Fanny Adam and Terra America.
