Tense, Russian fighter jets intercept British spy plane

MOSCOW – Jet fighter Su-30 Russia intercept or intercept spy planes English over the Black Sea on Thursday (11/11/2021). The fighter jet’s tense maneuvers took place as the London plane flew close to the Red Bear nation’s border.

The British plane finally reversed course as the Russian fighter jets drew nearer to it.

Crimea joined Russia after breaking away from Ukraine in 2014. Kiev and Western countries consider it annexation and do not recognize the territory as part of Russia.

Moscow has been angered so far this summer with NATO reconnaissance flights over the Black Sea where the US-led alliance countries are conducting military exercises near Russia’s borders.

Also on Thursday, Russia’s defense ministry criticized the increased military activity of the United States and its NATO allies in the Black Sea region and pointed to increased naval, air force and naval reconnaissance activities as well as strategic aviation.

“This unscheduled exercise near our border demonstrates the aggressive US actions that were in no way provoked by Russia that create a threat to regional security and strategic stability,” the ministry said.

The statement referred to the intercept of the British aircraft and said that the Russian Air Force anti-aircraft missile force had detected four NATO reconnaissance aircraft within 24 hours.
