Ten US states stop easing because of new infections NOW

The U.S. states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Florida are halting or reversing the easing of the corona measures, due to the rising number of newly identified infections, reports CNN Saturday.

It was previously announced that the state of Texas was going to reverse relaxations after a new flare-up of the corona virus. The ban on gathering has been tightened, restaurants are allowed to use half the capacity and cafes and bars must be closed.

Florida also applies the latter sharpening. The decision is supported by the chief American virologist, Anthony Fauci. The health expert has seen Americans massively ignore basic rules in recent weeks. “Avoid busy places, wear face masks. If we (the US, ed.) Do not follow the rules, that is the recipe for disaster,” says Fauci.

Record increases in corona infections were recorded on Saturday in the states of Florida and Arizona. The approximately 9,585 and 3,591 newly diagnosed infections also contributed to a new daily record in the US: 45,000 new cases of disease were reported, news agency writes Reuters.

Earlier this week, Vice President Mike Pence warned that an increase in the number of newly diagnosed corona infections per day was reported in 16 states. It is not clear whether the ten states that are now postponing or reversing eases are on his list. The virus flares up especially in the southern states.

The US now has more than 2.5 million infections: more than a quarter of all infections worldwide (almost 10 million). At least 125,000 people died in the United States, again more than a quarter of the global number (nearly 500,000).
