Alex Telles trusted by Erik ten Hag to be a central defender when Manchester United against Liverpool. The Brazilian expressed his impressions of his new position.
At the Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, Tuesday (12/7/2022), Telles entered the second round. He replaces the role of Victor Lindelof on the left side of Manchester United’s center back.
Man United kept a clean sheet against Liverpool, picking up a 4-0 win. Telles was able to guard the MU defense well from attacks by Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.

After the match, Telles revealed the impact of taking on a new role as central defender under the direction of Erik ten Hag.
“Work hard and stay focused,” said Alex Telles on his personal Twitter account.
Manchester United beat Liverpool thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pelestri. In that match, Ten Hag still found the Red Devils’ weaknesses.
“We made some mistakes in pressing, we lost some chances, but we also created a lot of chances. We have to keep working hard to reduce mistakes, but of course we are happy,” Ten Hag told MUTV.
MU continue their pre-season adventure to Australia. The Red Devils will play Melbourne Victory on 15 July 2022. After that, Manchester United will play Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
