TOKYO – Temporary standings for medals 202 Tokyo Olympics0, Sunday (25/7/2021), until 12.00 WIB, has been known. The first position still belongs to Japan with a collection of three gold and one silver medals. The hosts are trailed by China, the United States and Australia.

Indonesian women’s lifter, Windy Cantika Aisah, became the first athlete to donate a medal for the country in Indonesia Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This achievement was carved by Windy Cantika when she appeared in the 49 kg class.

Windy Cantika gave her best in the 49 kg class. Even so, Windy Cantika got significant resistance from Hou Zhihui (China) and Chanu Saikhtom Mirabai (India).

Windy Cantika recorded a total lift of 194 kg with 84 kg snatch and 110 clean & jerk. Raise the total Windy Cantika is very good, but not enough to bring her a gold medal.

Because, Hou Zhihui carved a total force of 210 kg so he was entitled to a gold medal. Chanu Saikhtom won the silver medal with a total lift of 202 kg.

Even so, Windy Cantika’s struggle deserves appreciation. The other athletes are expected to follow in the footsteps of Windy Cantika to add to Indonesia’s medal tally today.

Indonesia also relied on weightlifting to win medals today. Indonesian male lifter, Eko Yuli Irawan, is expected to be able to get a gold medal in the 61 kg class.

For your information, Eko Yuli was the weightlifting world champion in 2018. Apart from being a world champion, Eko Yuli has also performed well at the Olympics with a collection of three medals (bronze in Beijing 2008, bronze in London 2012, and silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016).

Besides Eko Yuli, another Indonesian male lifter, Deni, will also appear in the 67 kg class today. If Eko Yuli and Deni can deliver gold medals, Indonesia’s position is expected to rise from where it is now.
