Telkomsel and Indihome Disruption, Netizens flocked to Twitter

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Telkom’s internet service is reportedly down. You can see it from the DownDetector page which has recorded an increase in reports since this afternoon.

Data on the Downdetector website shows that since 4.30pm there have been reports of disruptions to Telkom services. At 17.00 the number of reports had reached 1,453, with reports relating to internet problems, total blackouts and television. The highest ratio is for internet problems up to 85%.

Meanwhile, total blackout problems were reported by 14% and television problems by 1%.

The same pattern can be seen in Telkomsel service outage reports which started to increase at 16.30 and reached 1,573 reports at 17.04.

CNBC Indonesia they contacted Indihome and Telkomsel to confirm the disturbance.

A number of Twitter users filled the timeline on Wednesday afternoon (12/21/2022) asking questions about the Indihome network. Many of them find the Internet to be a nuisance.

Many users find it difficult to access the Internet. In addition, there are also those who say that the network seems slow, i.e. slow.

Some of them also asked questions mentioning Indihome official accounts @IndiHome and @IndiHomeCare.

“Guys Indihome, is that a problem?” said one Twitter user this afternoon.

Apart from Indihome, a number of users also felt that Telkomsel’s services were also discontinued. But there is no certainty of the truth of the problematic network.

“@IndihomeCare, min, is there any interference with Indihome network? In West Jakarta from 2 o’clock,” another user wrote.

“Check if Indihome has any interference with Twitter,” said another Twitter user.

Telkom Group and Telkomsel have also expressed their voice on the service disruption. Telkom’s corporate communications vice president Andri Herawan Sasoko explained that his party was currently checking to identify the cause of the disturbance.

“Regarding the news regarding the interruption of TelkomGroup services, both IndiHome and Telkomsel, we can state that Telkom is currently carrying out an audit to identify the cause (root cause) of the interruption”, he explained in a statement received CNBC Indonesia.

He also explained that the service to some customers had gradually improved. “Services should return to normal as soon as possible,” Andri said.

Meanwhile, Telkomsel’s general manager of external corporate communications, Aldin Hasyim, also said that as of 5pm, WIB network access services have started to recover gradually and can be used normally. Telkomsel and TelkomGroup are also optimizing the acceleration of service access recovery.

“Currently, starting around 5:00 PM WIB, Telkomsel’s broadband network access services have gradually recovered and can be used normally again. Telkomsel and TelkomGroup continue to optimize to speed up the recovery of access to service in its complex,” said Aldrin.
