The price of gas at gas stations nationwide rose for four consecutive weeks.

According to Korea National Oil Corporation’s Oil Price Information Service Opinet on the 19th, the nationwide gasoline sales price in the third week of December was 1357.7 won per liter, up 18.6 won from last week.

Gasoline prices rose again from the end of November. The increase continued to increase from 1.4 won, 8.2 won, and 12.2 won to 18.6 won this week.

International oil price fluctuations are reflected in Korea with a lag of 2-3 weeks. International oil prices are rising and domestic oil prices are also rising due to expectations for the development of a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine.

The price of gasoline in Seoul, the nation’s highest priced area, rose 17.7 won to 1441.7 won per liter, and the lowest priced gasoline in Daegu was 1331.3 won per liter, up 22.4 won.

By brand, gasoline at SK Energy’s gas station was the most expensive at 1366.5 won per liter, and gasoline at an affordable gas station was the cheapest at 1323.0 won per liter.

The sales price of diesel at gas stations nationwide also recorded 1158.2 won per liter, up 18.6 won from last week.

Meanwhile, international oil prices continue to rise, predicting that domestic oil prices will rise further for the time being.

The price of Dubai oil, which is the standard for crude oil imported into Korea, rose 1.7 dollars from last week to 50.8 dollars per barrel.

Dubai oil prices recovered to the $50 level in about nine months after March when oil prices fell to the $20 range due to the spread of Corona 19.

The international gasoline price was 53.2 won per barrel, up 2.0 dollars from last week.
