Confirmed. The most prestigious beauty pageant in the world, Miss Universe, stays on Telemundo after sealing a multi-year deal that confirms the network as the official Spanish-language home in the United States.
The 72nd edition of Miss Universe will be broadcast live and exclusively in Spanish from El Salvador on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
The pageant, which will culminate in reigning queen R’Bonney Gabriel of Houston, TX, crowning her successor at the end of the night, brings together women representing more than 90 countries to compete for the coveted title and the chance to lead their social cause mission to an international audience.
“As the official Spanish-language home of Miss Universe in the United States, we are happy to bring the pageant back to our audience live from El Salvador, a Latin American country full of beauty and rich in culture,” said Ronald Day, president of Telemundo Entertainment and Content Strategy.
“The long-awaited international event showcases the diversity in our culture, while also recognizing women who have positively impacted their countries and helped empower others,” she added.
“Miss Universe and Telemundo have had a decades-long relationship and it’s just an incredible partnership,” said Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization and executive producer of the show.
