Telegram has an Automatic Delete Message feature, here’s how to use it

Telegram is an application that can be said to be quite interesting in 2021. Because, recently Telegram has begun to be seen by many people as an application used to communicate.

As a rival to WhatsApp, Telegram has similar features and functions. Starting from sending messages, making phone calls, to video call.

Recently, this application, which is used to facilitate communication between users, has also received a new feature. This feature is called Auto-Delete Messages aka Delete Automatic Messages.

From the name alone, you can certainly guess the function of this feature. That’s right, the Auto-Delete Messages feature serves to delete messages automatically.

“Not all conversations are created to last forever. This is why Telegram users can delete messages for all members in chat without a trace,” said Telegram via an update on its official website.

You can turn on auto-delete time on all chats on Telegram. Including, personal or group chats that you join.

Basically, this feature has been around since 2013, but only for messages in Secret Chat.

Messages that are deleted for all members in the group will last a maximum of 7 days after being sent. To use this feature, you need to activate it first on Telegram.

Here’s how to activate the Auto Delete feature on Telegram:

• Tap the dot icon (⋮)> Clear History, then select the duration (Android users only).
• Press and hold the message, tap Select> Clear history (top-left)> Enable Auto Delete (iOS users only)

Please note, in groups and channels, only admins can post and set Auto Delete Messages time.
