The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, received French citizenship in August 2021. The corresponding decree was published on the website of the country’s government bulletin (JORF).
The document dated August 23 indicates his name, date and place of birth.
Durov himself has not yet commented on information about French citizenship.
It is known that in addition to Russian citizenship, Durov also has a passport of the state of Saint Kitts and Nevis, located in the Caribbean Islands.
