Teens Experience Blood Clots Until Surgery After Covid-19 Vaccine

Suara.com – An 18 year old woman has to undergo three related brain surgeries blood clots after receiving the Johnson & Johnson corona virus vaccine.

Reporting from Metro UK, Emma Burkey suffered from seizures after receiving a single dose injection that US officials kept after she and five other women developed a rare case of blood clots.

Burkey started feeling sick about a week after he got the injection in early April, according to Bret Johnson, a spokesperson for his family.

The Nevada teen was taken to St Rose Dominica’s Hospital in Henderson, then flown to the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California. The teenager has been taken out of induction coma as well as a breathing apparatus.

Her parents Kathy and Russ, who have made short daily visits because of Covid-19 restrictions, said she had a tracheostomy tube blocking her speech. He communicates by saying a few words and blinking.

“He’s improving slowly. The word we got from his parents last night was“ slow, slow, slow, ”Johnson said.

One in five women with cases of blood clots due to Johnson & Johnson injections have died. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) discontinued the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on April 13 in response to six cases of severe brain blood clots.

More than 7.5 million people had received the vaccine at that time without incident. Federal health officials are reportedly likely to recommend restarting Johnson & Johnson injections, with warnings surrounding rare blood clots.

Age restrictions tend to be smaller, according to the Washington Post. The CDC advisory group will convene in a public meeting on Friday that could decide the fate of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

As of Thursday, the US had recorded more than 31.8 million cases of Covid-19 and more than 569,000 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center. The country gave 216 million doses of the vaccine on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported.
