WHAT DOES IT TALK ABOUT ?

The Ted Lasso series follows the daily life of an American football coach recently recruited by an English Premier League club when he has no experience in the sport.

THE FEEL-GOOD SERIES PER EXCELLENCE

Inspired by an advertising campaign to promote the broadcast of soccer matches in the United States, Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis as a particularly optimistic and playful soccer coach. He does not know anything about football, the one played with the feet, but that will not prevent him from crossing the ocean to coach AFC Richmond.

Despite his inexperience and the hostility of players, supporters and the press towards him, this eternal bon vivant never loses sight of his mantra: “Believe !”. And that to believe in it, he believes in it, and we with him. In the same way that he tames his entourage with his benevolence and his attentive ear, Ted Lasso charms the spectators just as quickly thanks to his communicative good humor.

We could blame him for his overflow of good feelings, but this comedy in 10 episodes is simply good for morale in all circumstances. Entertaining, funny and excruciatingly joyful, one thing is certain: Ted Lasso will put a smile on your face!

JASON SUDEIKIS IN GREAT FORM

Former member of the Saturday Night Live, Jason Sudeikis excels without much surprise in the register of humor. After having held the poster of the comedies How to kill your boss? or The Millers, a budding family, he once again plays the famous enthusiastic coach character he already played in the 2013 advertising campaign.

In addition to his good nature, the smile that never leaves his lips and his impeccable mustache, it is in the scenes where he shows himself vulnerable that Jason Sudeikis brings depth to this great dreamer. For this role, he also won the Golden Globe at the beginning of the year for best actor in a musical or comedy television series.

TEAM WORK ABOVE ALL

As in any team sport, a player is nothing without his team, and Jason Sudeikis is no exception. On the screen, he gives the answer to an absolutely brilliant Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones) in the role of Rebecca Welton, who runs with an iron fist this club she dreams so much of … destroying, in revenge for her ex-husband.

Brett Goldstein plays Roy Kent, the cranky and aging team captain, against the club’s superstar striker Jamie Tartt, played by Phil Dunster. Juno Temple does not allow himself to be stepped on in the guise of the very honest Keeley.

Without forgetting the faithful accomplices of Ted Lasso: his discreet sidekick coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt (already present in the sketch of 2013), and the fearful Nathan, played by Nick Mohammed (seen recently in Intelligence with David Schwimmer).

NOT JUST FOR FOOTBALL FANS!

If you have no concept in football, don’t worry: Ted Lasso either! The show obviously plays the sports joke card, especially when it comes to the coach’s shortcomings on the subject, and you might miss a few of them, but it’s not intended exclusively for fans of the sport.

Although the comedy takes place in the world of football, it focuses above all on its characters, their relationships and the development of each of them in contact with Ted Lasso and his unusual methods. Add to that a healthy dose of USA vs England culture shock.

SEASON 2 IS COMING SOON

The second season of Ted Lasso will be launched on July 23 on the Apple TV + platform at a weekly broadcast rate. This leaves you enough days to catch up right now with the first salute of episodes of the series created by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs), Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly.

Ready to be coaxed by the contagious optimism of Ted Lasso? Visit Apple TV + to discover the series, which has already been renewed for a third season.
