Teatrix presents 80 works online

Over 80 theater plays from different institutions are on the platform Teatrix Mexico, with the aim of serving the public that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, remains at home.

With the goal of reaching 60 thousand subscribers in Mexico, Teatrix established an alliance with the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas to launch the country’s first platform to view theater plays online in high definition, from any device through a monthly subscription.

An analysis of the platform revealed that the online audience is increasing, since from April to October 2019 it had 188 daily users, and in the same period of 2020, the number rose to 510 users per day.

Among the offer that can already be seen is a Monologue Festival, the The Shakesperean tour, works like Madama Butterfly, The procession of the Holy Lie, To eight columns, Pumpkin time, Carmina Burana and more.

In addition, subscribers can access master classes and workshops, through streaming shows, videos, and virtual tours in museums and galleries in Mexico and abroad.

Among the institutions to which it is linked are the Louvre Museum, the London Philharmonic, the Mining Symphony Orchestra, UNAM Theater, among other.

Teatrix It arose six years ago in Argentina, where they now have 60 thousand subscribers, so that is the goal that has been applied in Mexico, since for now it has two thousand subscribers.

The union with the UAdeG and Conjunto Santander will make it possible to extend the exhibition life of productions and pay for the economic recovery of companies and artists dedicated to theater.

Some works will have free access, to encourage people to stay at home, such as black comedy, Parasites, starring Regina Blandón, Daniel Tovar and Yuriria del Valle.
