Teammates had to separate furious star duo – VG

(Tottenham – Everton 1–0) Captain Hugo Lloris and star Heung-min Son were on their way to smash each other during the break during the game against Everton on Monday.

On the way in for the break, the TV pictures showed that the two fighting males shouted at each other, before Lloris enraged Son.

Several Tottenham players had to move in between to calm the moods, before it seemed that the exchange of words continued inside the player tunnel.

– What happened is part of the football, after the game we are happy to be part of the team and for the three points. What was said belongs in the wardrobe, but we have a lot of respect for each other, said Lloris in an interview shown on TV 2 after the match.

The quarrel seemed to have started after Son didn’t work home after a ball loss just before the break. The keeper also confirmed in the interview after the match that it was the situation that angered him.

– It was an overreaction, I think it was a little overdue. Such things happen much more often than you think, but most often in the field of training. Here he could wait ten seconds until they were inside the player tunnel, and then nobody had seen it, said former Tottenham keeper Erik Thorstvedt in TV 2’s studio.

On the other hand, before the second half, they seem to be conciliatory, and gave each other a hug on the way out to the second half. The clamp was repeated out on the field after the game ended.

Deserved victory

Tottenham won 1–0 after a self-goal by Michael Keane in the first half. The stopper was unlucky and was hit by a Giovani Lo Celso shot and steered the ball into his own goal.

The victory was deserved, in a fight that entertained the very few. It was also José Mourinho’s 200th victory as manager of the Premier League.

Spurs are in 8th place in the Premier League, seven points behind Manchester United in 5th place. Up to Chelsea in 4th place giving the Champions League there are nine points with five games left. So hope still lives for Mourinho’s men. If Manchester City is banned from the Champions League, 5th place will hold for that tournament next season. A final decision on that is expected in July.
