No new extension of tax payments: the deadline remains set for 20 July. But the building of the tax reform will start again, with the aim of reducing taxes. the same Ministry of the Economy to block the way to a hypothesis of a further postponement to September of the payments of the advances and of the tax balances on income in self-assessment (a cash flow for over 8 billion, according to forecasts) already slipped from the end of June to 20 July, despite the increasing pressure for an extension not only in the world of professional operators but also by politics in Parliament. So now the accountants and cafes will have to deal with requests for around 4.5 million VAT numbers.

The obstacles of the note to Def
The further extension requested – explained the Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, Alessio Villarosa, answering a question in the Finance Committee of the Chamber, making use of the note prepared by the MEF offices – would affect, according to the offices, the preparation of the tax forecasts self-liquidated of the Update Note to the Def which, as known, must be presented to Parliament by the end of September. Villarosa recalled that the deferral of taxes motivated by the need to facilitate the taxpayer by allowing more time, also for organizational purposes. In this sense, the government operated, postponing the ordinary deadlines of 30 June and 30 July with an increase of 0.4 percent, respectively to 20 July and 20 August. However, the Minister of Economy Roberto Gualtieri, has announced the start of work on the tax reform, suspended due to the pandemic. Reform that will have the guiding principles of cutting taxes and the tax gap and simplification, with a reduction in personal income tax and the introduction from 2021 of the single check, as also traced in the 2020-2022 guideline act to make more the taxman is fair and efficient.
