Synopsis: The Bremen crime scene today on Sunday in a quick check
A man’s body is found in the harbor. Liv Moormann (Jasna Fritzi Bauer) and Linda Selb (Luise Wolfram) find out: The dead man (Markus Knüfken) was a doctor – and what a doctor. A do-gooder, a Samaritan, someone who treated the poor of the city pro bono, a helper with great ideals. And now he lies here, executed, on a dusty harbor quay, run over and with his skull broken. What is the secret behind the brutal act? Whose anger and hatred has discharged here?
At first no motive is recognizable, the traces in the area of the deceased run into the void. Moormann, Selb and Mads Andersen (Dar Salim) continue to investigate meticulously and find a number of suspects: the doctor’s assistant Kirsten Beck (Lisa Jopt), the activists Ann Gelsen and Vicky Aufhoven (Anna Bachmann and Franziska von Harsdorf) and Charlotte Aufhoven (Karoline Eichhorn ), the boss of a once noble family business. They all have a lot to hide because they have a lot to lose.

Review: Is it worth it to tune into “Tatort: And the night always wins”?
The crime scene today is basically about disappointment, guilt, self-sacrifice, and feeling stuck in the wrong life. That sounds like lead, but it’s not, writes Ronald Hinzpeter in our Tatort column. Because director Oliver Hirschbiegel did not shoot a piece for debate with “And always wins,” but a good, solid crime thriller with strong characters.

The First shows the crime scene today like all episodes parallel to the TV broadcast on Sunday as a live stream in the ARD-Media library (to the media library). The thrillers can then be accessed there for six months – for reasons of youth protection, however, only between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Commissioners: Moormann, Andersen and Selb are the crime scene investigators in Bremen
After 18 years, Inga Lürsen (Sabine Postel) and Nils Stedefreund (Oliver Mommsen) came to an end in Bremen in 2019. Lürsen investigated alone from 1997 to 2001, and from December 2001 to April 2019 she and Stedefreund formed a rather unspectacular but solid crime scene duo. A new start followed in 2021 and a trio took over for the duo: Liv Moormann (Jasna Fritzi Bauer), Mads Andersen (Dar Salim) and Linda Selb (Luise Wolfram) are the names of the new inspectors at the Bremen Tatort.
The team couldn’t be more different: BKA officer Selb was already seen in the last episodes of the crime scene and supported the old Bremen investigator duo there. She is the experienced one in the team, smart and razor-sharp in sound and technology. Moormann, on the other hand, is a newcomer, in the opening episode “Newborn” she has her first day on a homicide squad. And the Dane Andersen actually wants to go back home. As a team, the three of them work surprisingly well with relaxed, mocking togetherness. In private, the investigators – unlike other crime scene teams – initially reveal little of their life.
