Tatiana Dyková did not change the nomination, but she shone at the gala evening – eXtra.cz

Tatiana Dyková (44) was one of the actresses who had a chance to win the statuette of the Czech Lion. She manages to get among the nominees quite regularly, but she has won the award only once so far, in 2005 with the film Štěstí. However, she will not repeat the winning feeling for the role of junkie Jindra in Jan Prušinovský’s comedy Grand Prix. However, at least she supported her husband Vojt Dyk, with whom she arrived at the presentation. As they were captured by eXtra.cz photographers, both of them just shone.

Tatiana Dyková arrived at the Czech Lions in a positive mood alongside her partner Vojta Dyk. They both just glowed, literally. They wore outfits with very prominent gold elements. Táňa was wearing a coat that looked almost like a bathrobe, which she didn’t quite pick up on. But it was much better without him.

Wild youth and career as a go-go dancer

Although with Tatiana Dyková considered mainly a theater actress, she also belongs to the most prominent personalities of the Czech film scene. Since childhood, she has been involved in various artistic circles and aspired to become a ballerina. In the end, however, she decided to study at the Prague Conservatory of Acting.

She had a wild youth, as she admits, which may have been the reason why she did not finish school. She is said to have spent the 1990s in the Radost club, where she and a friend used to go as go-go dancers. “I combined the pleasant with the useful. We kept talking about money. Even though I was filming at the time and already had some money. And there they had go-go dancers and we thought that if we kept going there and dancing for free, that we could dance there for money. Go-go dancers are not pole dancers. They’re dancers, normally dressed and each one had their own style. So we auditioned, they took us and we danced there for two years.” she explained how it happened on the show 7 falls of Honza Dędek.

The glory days

Despite not finishing school, she never had a shortage of offers for roles. She flashed in front of the camera for the first time at the age of sixteen in the short story Hotel for Siblings in the short TV cycle Prima sezona. A year later, she starred in her first feature film, Indian Summer, for which she was nominated for a Czech Lion. Since then, one role after another has come, and with them also almost annual nominations for the Czech Lion. Together with her friend Aňa Geislerová, Pavel Liška and Jiří Macháček, she is one of the biggest Czech film stars and after the turn of the millenniumand there are few films worth mentioning where one of them does not appear.

Now Tatiana Dyková has calmed down and is mainly looking after her family life. In 2019, she married her longtime partner, actor Vojta Dyk (37), who this year also received a nomination for the Czech Lion, for his portrayal of Josef Mysliveček in the film Il Boemo. The Dykes had a chance to win two statuettes this year. But in the end it didn’t work out, because Martha Issová took home the statuette for the best female supporting role.

Dyková wanted to refuse the role

The role of a girl from the street in the film Grand Prix, which brought Dyková a nomination for the Czech Lions in the Best Supporting Actress category, was said to be something Dyková wanted to reject for a long time, as she admitted on the Honzy Dědka program. “She’s so interesting because she’s going to be unpopular, but she’s not negative at all. It’s a comedy, but I played a complete tragedy. It’s tragic when someone ends up like that.” she was explaining why she had a problem with the junkie character.

The director Jan Prušinovský was also aware of this, and when he offered her the role, he was said to be very careful. “I didn’t understand why at first, only then, when I read the script and discovered my character Jindra – which I enjoyed because I only know Jindra guys – I finished reading and thought: ‘But it’s completely disgusting to play this, it’s terrible, I probably won’t take it.’ But then Honza Prušinovský called again, and if you knew him, you’d know how he can lure people in. The way he’s having fun, the way he shines at work. So I finally said to myself, why not?” said Dyková, who is now certainly happy about her decision. For the actress Tatiana Dyková, it was this year nomination for the Czech Lion already the twelfth chance for a statuette.
