Task Force: 30 COVID patients in Aceh are still undergoing treatment at the hospital

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – The Aceh COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) stated that as many as 30 positive patients in Indonesia’s westernmost province are still undergoing treatment at referral hospitals in various regions in Aceh.

Aceh COVID-19 Spokesperson Saifullah Abdulgani, Thursday, said dozens of residents who were confirmed positive and had these symptoms received treatment at 12 hospitals spread across several areas in Tanah Rencong.

“They are treated in the room Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or the isolation room for New Emerging and Re-Emerging Diseases (Pinere), according to their medical needs,” said Saifullah in Banda Aceh.

He explained that eight hospitals were still treating the infected patient at the Dr Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh, the Muhammad Ali Kasim Gayo Lues Hospital five, the Subulussalam City Hospital four and the Tgk Abdullah Syafi’I Pidie Hospital three people.

Furthermore, at Aceh Tamiang Hospital, Langsa City Hospital, Tk IV Iskandar Muda (IM) Hospital in Lhokseumawe and Tk II Hospital Kesdam IM Banda Aceh there were two people each.

“Meanwhile, Dr. H Yulidin Away Hospital, Meraxa Hospital in Banda Aceh, Datu Beru Takengon Hospital, and Cut Nyak Dhien Hospital in West Aceh each have one patient,” said Saifullah.

In addition to inpatients, said Saifullah, currently there are 215 residents who are self-isolating in their respective homes, once the results of their swab sample analysis were confirmed to be positive for COVID-19.

These patients are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms so do not require intensive care in hospital, he said.

However, the self-isolation is also under the supervision of health workers and the monitoring of the village COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

“When the symptoms increase, they are immediately treated medically or referred to a hospital,” he said.

In addition, Saifullah also asked residents to be disciplined in health protocols, even though the trend of COVID-19 cases in the Veranda of Makkah has shown a decline since the last month.

Wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility are a must at a time when case transmission is still happening in the community, he reminded.*
