A 21-month-old baby was found floating, unresponsive, in an inflatable children’s pool on Sunday evening during a family celebration in Castes in the Tarn, reports La Dépêche du Midi.
The family was celebrating a birthday at the grandparents’ home, when the little girl escaped the vigilance of the adults.
She ended up unattended in the inflatable pool and it was her brother who found her drowning.
The family then began cardiac massage and then the firefighters took over.
The girl, in critical condition, was rushed to hospital.
