Belarus has raised tariffs for the transportation of goods across the country by public rail transport. The relevant resolution MART No. 37 of May 30, 2023 officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, writes BELTA.
The legal act establishes tariffs for the transportation of goods across the territory of Belarus by public rail transport, except for the transportation of goods in transit through the territory of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union; works (services) related to the organization and implementation of this transportation.
Tariffs are set without VAT. VAT is charged in accordance with the law.
According to the agency, the basic level of tariffs has been increased by an average of 20%, tariffs for works (services) related to the organization and implementation of transportation – by an average of 15%.
MART added that the total cost of transportation in this case “is formed and depends on the parameters of a particular transportation (type of cargo, ownership of rolling stock, distance, weight, load, etc.)”, and the Belarusian Railways retains the right to independently make decisions on granting discounts .
It should be reminded that the tariffs for rail transportation of passengers and luggage in the intra-republican traffic have also recently increased in Belarus.
