The Mojokerto Regency Government, East Java is targeting three zero HIV/AIDS by 2030, namely zero new survivors, zero deaths, and zero stigma and discrimination due to HIV/AIDS.

The Regent of Mojokerto, Ikfina Fahmawati, said that HIV/AIDS was nothing new to her, because she had once concentrated on dealing with the disease when she was the head of the Mojokerto Regency PKK movement.

“At that time, we were trying to find out how we could, through working group 4, have a working group that cared about HIV/AIDS. The aim was to protect vulnerable groups at risk of infection from people who had no idea that they could transmit HIV/AIDS,” he said during a socialization on preventing HIV/AIDS transmission. The Regent of Ikfina also invited the participants to socialize about HIV/AIDS to the public so that they are alert.

“One way that can help stop or curb the spread of this disease is by encouraging a man to have sexual relations only with his legal wife and vice versa,” he said.

On that occasion, the Regent of Ikfina also emphasized the importance of prevention because it is the best form of suppressing the spread of this disease.

“When you are infected, like it or not, live with an anti-virus because this anti-virus can prevent transmission to others,” he said.

The socialization was also attended by the Head of the Mojokerto District Health Service, Dr. Ulum Rokhmat Rokhmawan, Head of UPTD Community Health Center, as well as eight village heads and village midwives throughout Puri District.
