It was just after noon. 14 that the tanker driver reports the accident to the naudetatane. The tanker had driven off the road between Naddvik and Årdalstangen. Loaded with 50,000 liters of liquid propane, a full alarm was sounded.
– There was a dent in the tank, but there is no sign of a leak, says duty manager Morten Frantzen in the 110 switchboard West.
The plan is to get the propane over to other tankers. Due to the security, this will take several hours and fv. 53 will be closed during the work.
It will be a long detour for everyone who will go to Årdal municipality. Detour will be via Filefjell and Årdal-Tyin.
Loaded with several thousand liters of propane, the outcome could have been far more serious.
– The potential for a large leak could have been ugly, but there is control in the city, says Frantzen.
