Tampa Bay Lightning take advantage over New York Islanders in Stanley Cup play-off semifinals

Abused at home at the opening of this semi-final (there is no Conference final this season in the NHL), the Tampa Bay Lightning is in the process of regaining the ascendancy over the New York Islanders. On Thursday night, the defending champion won on the Islanders’ ice by showing great defensive strength at the Nassau Coliseum. Yanni Gourde (11th) then Brayden Point (40th) were responsible for scoring the two decisive goals. Point’s came just twenty seconds from the second break.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has thus confirmed its very good traveling arrangements in these play-offs: six wins for a single defeat. This is the third time in as many play-off series that the Islanders have lost Game 3 to find themselves behind two wins to one. The previous two times they have won the next three matches to qualify in six encounters.
