FilGoal | News | Former Espanyol goalkeeper dies after being infected with the Coruna virus

Benito Juent, former Espanyol goalkeeper, died after a positive test for the Coruna virus.

Mundo Deportivo newspaper revealed that the 84-year-old former goalkeeper had recently suffered from the Coruna virus and his health had deteriorated.

The report indicated that Benito also suffered a stroke due to his poor health after the positive status of the Coronavirus.

The world suffers from the spread of the Corona virus, as the number of cases reached 349 thousand and 139 cases, including 15 thousand and 297 deaths.

Spain is the third country with the highest number of coronavirus deaths, as the number reached 2182 cases out of 33 thousand and 89 cases.

Benito started as a first-class goalkeeper with Espanyol in 1960 and spent five years at the Catalan club before playing six years for Deportivo La Coruna.

Benito also worked as a technical manager for a number of teams, most notably Real Mallorca, Cadiz, Espanyol and Las Palmas.

He managed to qualify for the league with three clubs, but he did not succeed with Espanyol.
