Linda de Mol wakes up with quite a hangover, but not from the Christmas drink. The TV queen has had the worst-watched episode of her talk show ever.
It’s no secret that Linda de Mol is quite obsessive about viewing figures. She will therefore see with sadness how badly the scores of her annual talk show series have fallen into disrepair. Linda’s Winter Month (formerly Linda’s Summer Week) has never been viewed as badly as this year.
meager ratings
The opening episode with André van Duin and Nikkie de Jager was the second least viewed episode ever with 811 thousand viewers. TV critics like Angela de Jong quite shocked of that meager score, but the SBS camp did not know how fast they debt to Max Verstappen. He stood for fifteen minutes (!) opposite Linda’s talk show.
A week later, Linda was on the rise with Jelka van Houten and Guus Meeuwis (955 thousand), but the third episode with Peter Pannekoek and Anita Witzier scored poorly with 641 thousand viewers. And yesterday, on Boxing Day, the final episode with André Rieu and Britt Dekker attracted even fewer viewers: 605 thousand (14% market share).
Linda vs Linda
The channel management of SBS 6 knows exactly where and when they program Linda, so apparently they had the expectation that Linda could compete against the competition and the Christmas dinner. Nothing could be further from the truth: never in history has Linda’s talk show, previously Linda’s Summer Week, been viewed so poorly.
Incidentally, Linda competed with herself for a few minutes yesterday: just when Linda’s Winter Month started, she could be seen with an interview in the Matthijs van Nieuwkerk show Top 2000 a gogo on NPO 3. Almost as many people watched that: 604 thousand (15% ).
Maestro wins
The primetime winner on Boxing Day was the Frits Sissing show Maestro with 1.3 million viewers (29%). Immediately afterwards, Een Huis Full Kerst attracted 842 thousand viewers (21%). The silver is for RTL 4, which reached 637 thousand viewers (14%). Only then does Linda’s Winter Month follow.
NPO 3 takes fourth place: The Most Dangerous Roads of the World, Wire Steel and Freddie Mercury: The Final Act attracted 301 thousand (7%), 351 thousand (8%) and 479 thousand viewers (14%). After Linda’s Winter Month, the Jan Versteegh show Klein Maar Fijn attracted 343 thousand viewers (9%).
Shownieuws (374 thousand and 14%) did not make the top fifteen.
