Takaaki Nakagami (Honda) dominated the first Free Practice 1 session of the Czech Republic Grand Prix ahead of Joan Mir (Suzuki) and Pol Espargaró (KTM). On the Masaryk circuit, 5.4 km long, the Japanese got out of his box in the last minutes to set the fastest time. The first Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati) achieved a very good fourth place. As for his compatriot and World Cup leader Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), he struggled with his bike and could not do better than 13th.
