Coach Bologna Siniša Mihajlovič became infected with coronavirus. This was confirmed by the management of the Italian club. The 51-year-old coach belongs to a high-risk group because he has been treated for leukemia, during which he underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant last year. So far, according to representatives of Bologna, he has no symptoms, but he will be quarantined for two weeks.
Mikhailovich contracted leukemia last July. He immediately began intensive treatment, during which he underwent chemotherapy and, in the autumn, a bone marrow transplant. After recovery, he returned to the team with which he extended his contract until 2023 in June.
Further mandatory tests before the start of the season await the entire Bologna team on Monday. It is the north of Italy, which has been hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic across the country, to see a resurgence in covid-19 in recent weeks.
