The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense said that it spotted six more Chinese balloons flying over the Taiwan Strait yesterday, Sunday, one of which crossed the island, in the latest incident of monitoring balloons that the ministry says it has seen over the Taiwan Strait over the past month and a half.

This month, in a strongly worded statement, the Ministry accused: China By threatening aviation safety and waging psychological warfare on the island’s residents with balloons, days before Taiwanese elections On January 13.

China’s Defense Ministry, which last month declined to comment on the balloons, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. China considers Taiwan part of its territory, despite strong objections from the Taipei government.

The possibility of China using balloons for espionage became a global issue last February when the United States shot down what it said was a Chinese surveillance balloon. China said the balloon was a civilian vehicle that accidentally veered.

In the latest incident, which the ministry revealed on Monday in its daily report on Chinese military activities during the past 24 hours, it said that six balloons flew over the center line in the strait yesterday, Sunday.
