Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger opened up to his audience this week during an interview with YouTuber Urbano Yuri DJ, on the program El Precio de la Fama, where he talked about his most personal side.
During the broadcast on March 26, José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, as the urban singer is actually called, reflected on his career and talked about his experiences, the mistakes he has made and the obstacles he has faced.

With apparent frankness, he addressed topics such as authenticity in the music industry and the pressure to maintain a public image, implying that his scandals and everything negative he has done has been on purpose, trying to form an image.
He also talked about what he considers the most devastating day of his life, when in 2020, just one day after his mother Magda Zaldívar died, at age 53, his father also died.
The reggaeton singer confirmed the painful news with a farewell message to his parents: “Rest in peace, it was enough for both of us. I became a good man, you will be my best guide, I love you forever,” he wrote alongside a photo of both.
The loss marked him deeply, and it was speculated that it caused him to enter a deep depression, which at the same time plunged him into the consumption of alcohol and other substances to deal, in a bad way, with the pain of grief.
Regarding this, when questioned by the interviewer, El Taiger did not deny anything, and even justified his consumption by assuring that it is something “natural” and that he can do whatever he wants with his life.
“Human beings are addicted by nature. People also have to know that I am 36 years old, I live in the United States and when I want to do something, I buy it and do it because it is my life. I understand that you like my music and that you want to see me in a certain way, but this is what I am,” she admitted openly.
The Taiger has even faced problems with the law for his consumption of illegal substances, having an arrest in which cocaine was found and for which there was speculation for several months that he had been deported to Cuba.
He has also had violent incidents in which he is not “in his five senses,” and He was even arrested for shoplifting.after he stole an item of clothing while under the influence, so he didn’t even remember the reason for the arrest.
Although he confirmed himself as an adult, taking responsibility for his own decisions, the reggaeton player ignored the fact that as a public figure and urban music figure, he cannot help but be aspirational and an example for many young people.
