Last year, 86,172 children were born in Switzerland. Most often they were called Mia and Liam. That shows the first name hit parade published today of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
Among the girls born in 2019, 434 were given the name Mia. This replaces Emma at the top of the rankings after two years. Behind it follows continue to Sofia. With Lara, Lina and Lia, three new ones made it into the top 10, but Lea, Elena and Laura are hefell out.
