This year, Sziget also offers the opportunity for civil organizations to present themselves, and applications from associations and foundations can be sent to the festival organizers by May 17.
Civil Sziget is one of the most colorful and interesting spots of the festival, a meeting place where young people can get information, services, help and join in on the topics they are most interested in – environmental protection, human and minority rights, studying and working abroad, drug problems, healthy lifestyle for the work of the established organizations.
Every year, including this year, the organizers call for tenders to appear on the Civil Island. Civil associations and foundations that have been in operation for at least one year, whose activities are primarily based on the participation, education and integration of the 16-35 age group, preventing and solving their problems, and which wish to implement a program adapted to the specific circumstances of the festival, are invited to apply.
During the evaluation of the tender, preference will be given to those organizations that have international or national competence, wish to provide a high-quality professional program to the visitors of the festival, and whose program is held in several languages. Andrea Vidó, program manager of Civil Sziget, added: “We are looking for programs that demonstrate the activities of the applicant organization that are useful for others, and strive to activate the islanders and involve them in the programs.”
