The Health Department of SYRIZA-PS, with its announcement, requests his immediate removal from the Ministry of Health and his referral to the disciplinary bodies of the medical community and the Greek Parliament, after the uproar caused by his obscene statements regarding femicide.
“For months now, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Vartzopoulos, has been eagerly leaking that his opinion on the privatization of mental health is coming to a vote. In vain! The deputy minister is pregnant but not ticking!” comments the Health department of the official opposition party, stressing that “the far-right ideological narrative of the government is no longer hidden. The last fig leaf has fallen.”
“For New Democracy, nothing less than the immediate removal of Mr. Vartzopoulos from the Ministry of Health is possible to calm the anger he caused with his obscurantist views. Mr. Mitsotakis is obviously not going to remove him. Because Vartzopoulos and Mitsotakis are two sides of the same coin”, he underlines.

For months now, Deputy Minister of Health K. Vartzopoulos has been eagerly leaking that his opinion on the privatization of mental health is coming to a vote.
In vain! The deputy minister is pregnant but not ticking!
And we finally learned the answer to this contradiction. Women are for tickling, men are biologically aggressive.
This was stated by Dimitris Vartzopoulos – also a psychiatrist. So the ticking women must obviously, according to the “scientist” deputy minister, be at home and for the “aggressive” men find ways to vent their aggression (where really? Maybe in the MAT? or as he implied in the army, in defense of the homeland ;).
And the Minister of Justice unsolicitedly defended him, as a sergeant against SYRIZA. It is the same Mr. Floridis (from PASOK), who argued that no one goes against the state, because it will crush him (obviously in the context of male aggression).
And after the massacre, Mr. Vartzopoulos continued unrepentantly insisting that he is right and femicides have a biological basis! He even invoked his (psych)medical capacity.
With the statements of Vartzopoulos-Floridis, the findings are clear and simple, it does not take special knowledge for every citizen of this country to understand that the government’s plan to deal with violence is not wrong, it is the century they are in that is wrong. The positions of the government and the deputy minister are far from any democratic concept and of course beyond any consideration of gender equality.
With this interview, Mr. Vartzopoulos takes us back two centuries and emerges as an ardent, albeit late, supporter of Lombroso’s radical theory (the Italian doctor Lombroso, who was born in 1835, concluded that crime is a “privilege” of human nature, the tendency towards crime is a genetic trait ). Mr. Vartzopoulos, not respecting his institutional role, decided to publicly express his opinion about women, obviously implying that women are a subordinate being with a unique role to conceive and give birth for the perpetuation of the human species.
The far-right ideological narrative of the government is no longer hidden. The last fig leaf has fallen.
Indeed, it would be very useful to place the Hellenic Psychiatric Association and the Panhellenic Medical Association in this regard. Do not the statements of their colleague and member Mr. Vartzopoulos concern them? Do they agree or remain silent?
