So much so that they ran straight into the fence – called the Northern Lights.

– It is a bit of a visual illusion for the horses and of course very loud, says national team rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

Pieter Devos and Mom’s Coleraine des Bergeries were one of several crews that crashed into the final hurdle.

Neither he nor Ermindo managed the obstacle, but it was a slight demolition that made the crew pull on the round’s four errors.
