Syndicate of Hospitals Condemns Assault on Hospital Owner and Calls for Stronger Security Measures

The Syndicate of Hospitals in Lebanon announced that “in the context of the continuous attacks on hospitals and their staff, the syndicate was unfortunately informed of an assault this time against the owner and director of the Manara Doctors Hospital, Dr. Khaled Al-Khatib, who was severely beaten by a security guard in the Cascada Mall in the Bekaa. As a result, he suffered severe bleeding in the head and a broken arm.”

The Syndicate wished “a speedy recovery to the preacher, who valued his morality and commitment to the message of his profession,” and considered that “the positions of denunciation and denunciation are no longer sufficient to prevent the recurrence of these incidents inside hospitals, which are moving rapidly in all Lebanese regions without accountability and oversight, turning the hospital and all its employees into a stick breaker.” .

She also appealed to “the security authorities to assume their full responsibilities and to ensure protection for the doctor and all hospital workers who continue their work under difficult living pressures that are supposed to be taken into account and to give appropriate incentives in order to ensure the functioning of the services they provide, while expediting investigations into this incident to carry out the necessary according to the applicable laws, and severe punishment.” Punishments are for the aggressor who is known, so it will be a lesson for every aggressor.”
