The General Administration of Customs of China recently used registration reasons to frequently suspend the import of some products from my country, including Taiwanese saury, squid, squid and other aquatic products. On the 9th, another batch of Taiwanese products is been banned, covering Taiwanese beer, Kinmen and Jinche Karma sorghum, Malan whiskey, etc., and other products are said to be banned next week. In this regard, the OMC today issued a three-point statement (10) stressing that we will follow WTO rules and bilateral agreements channels, and ask the mainland to remove non-tariff trade barriers as soon as possible and protect our due rights .

The MAC’s three-point statement is as follows:
(1) Regarding the further expansion of the CCP customs to suspend the import of our related business, the government has obtained relevant information. We have applied for registration with the Chinese customs in accordance with the new regulations on food production in China mainland. Suspension of imports of food, beverages and other food products to the mainland has created trade barriers to our products exported to the mainland. We will follow the WTO rules and bilateral agreements channels, ask the continent to remove non-tariff trade barriers as soon as possible, and protect our due rights and interests.

(2) We will never accept that the other side creates non-trade tariff barriers in the name of food safety supervision and irrationally creates obstacles for Taiwanese enterprises. The government has once again expressed dissatisfaction and regret over the CCP’s violation of international trade rules and its obstruction of cross-strait trade and economic exchanges. It is hoped that the other side will be able to break the precipice and restore normal order of economic and commercial transactions across the strait.

(3) Various government agencies have evaluated the possible impact of the industry. At the same time, combined with various measures such as various public associations actively helping the industry to expand sales channels, export incentives, and industrial modernization guidance, Taiwan will not give up any market, but will not accept Threats of intervention by non-market factors. Taiwan industry welcomes cooperation with all parties, please rest assured that the people of Taiwan and the industry.
