There are now about 1200 infections in the region. This makes Schwyz, the canton where the concert was held, one of the corona hotspots in Europe.
Nine days after the performance, the organization found out that several people on stage were infected, Beat Hegner told public broadcaster RTS. Half of the people who underwent a test turned out to be positive.

‘Extremely high number of positive tests’
According to doctor Reto Nüesch, the explosion in the number of infections is ‘one of the worst in all of Europe’. The region now has 1,238 infections. By mid-September there were only 500. The director of the hospital in Schwyz is concerned. “The proportion of positive tests is extremely high. One in two people tests positive,” says Franziska Föllmi.
The Schwyz hospital is therefore sounding the alarm. In a video, Nüesch calls on the residents to wear a mouth mask and to avoid crowds.
